Oceania Champion and Halberg sporting moment of the year!

2025 started off with a bang!

I had three great training camps in Australia, making the most of great training conditions and international training partners and preparing for the World Championships there in October. In the middle of these camps were the Oceania Championships, where I managed a good run in the slalom final and came away with Second overall, behind a French paddler which meant I took home the Oceania title for the first time! It was great to bring the title back home to New Zealand.

I also travelled back home to New Zealand to attend the Halberg Awards as a finalist for the Sportsman of the year, and the Sporting moment of the year. Being in the room with many of New Zealands top sports people was an incredible experience, and being called up to the stage, taking Dad with me is definitely something I will never forget. Pretty cool trophy to add to the cabinet!
